Pictured here is Sal Anderson on a nav-ex with Jill in 5492. Also along for the trip was Sal’s husband Justin with instructor Lindsay Wallace in 5065 and Jill’s husband Norm in their taildragger Jabiru.
The trip included a stop at Wangaratta on the way down and Yarrawonga on the way home.
As you can see, the strip at Bright has quite an uphill slope and is very scenic, with mountains on either side of the circuit. Justin’s parents operate a B&B at Porepunkah and made the weekend quite a success for all involved.
Other activities recently include Mark Crutcher and Quincy Maxwell commencing formation training. Al’s son Michael has also commenced flying training and is reported to be a chip off the old block. Michael Powlay and Barry Bruest recently purchased a Thruster to continue their training in, so keep an eye out in the skies for this aircraft soon.
Another new trainee is Brad Lochrin from Boorowa, who has done the majority of his training at Albury and is finishing off his licence here in Temora, along with Scott Taubman of Young, who has started training.
Even though the weather has been less than kind, we have managed to accumulate some significant training hours.
The offering for sale of 5065 has attracted a bit of interest with several club members mentioning an interest in forming a syndicate to purchase. If you are interested in participating contact Jill on 0412 409171 for further infomation.
